Tu deseo ya ha sido concedido

Spanish/ Hola amigos!
A mi me parece totalmente acertado.

GRACIAS!!! Cristobal y al Universo.

The Concept of Joint family in India

Hey Guys, Its Shreya again. And the weather in Sweden is just so awesome . The Gamla Stan area is so nice to just walk around. Its has become my routine to walk around that place and hang out there after work.
Here is a picture of me Chilling!

Well today I want to talk about the concept of joint family which persists in India. Once of the best thing about the Indian culture is that everyone stays together. The whole family is like one strong unit. In older times most of the family used to have  15-20 people living together under one roof. All siblings and their children used to stay together. Nowadays this has become less given that it is easy to settle in different part of the country to better work opportunities . But still many family still have the grandparents -parents-children living together . In fact  even I stay in a joint family . The best part of a joint family is that your grandmother cooks you delicious food daily.

The International Yoga day in Stockholm

Hey guys!

Shreya at International Yoga day!
Its Shreya here again. On the 22nd June 2018 we witnessed the International Yoga day. On this day many Indians and people from different countries, cultures, religion came together to celebrate Yoga day. I also went to the  International YOGA DAY STHLM 2018  at the Waterfall Congress Center  . This event was organised by the Indian Embassy . It was a very  beautiful arena. More than a thousand people were present there . The ground was laid with thousands of mats  which were complementary and could be taken back by the guests after the event. The ”Art of living”    gurus were also there to teach meditation and yoga excercises.  There were  many sponsors of the event . It was like a complete yoga party for everyone out there. Also I was surprised to see the number of Swedish  who had actually come to do yoga . It was fun as well as tricky to perform  the Yoga forms. Well for me  the best was laying down on the ground at the end and just relaxing (hahahah). I tried really hard not to sleep though!

Well on a whole it was a very entertaining event
see you next time , yet again!
Byeeee!

Noche de San Juan

Pimientos de padron

en El Corte Ingles

Hola amigos y amigas!.
Volvere a mi tierra, Galicia.

The meaning of wedding for an Indian women

Hey guys!

The big fat Indian weddings

How are you ?I  am already tired by the week. When  is weekend going to be here !…. urgh ! All I need right now is   sleep. And the topic I am going to discuss today will be really loved by you . I know that for sure………….
Let’s talk about the Indian weddings.
Already feeling excited  thinking about the amazing energetical dance performances , the infinite types of food , the peppy music and off course the bride and the groom . Indian weddings are a complete package . Its like a complete vacation trip. So many rituals , So many events. For the women the wedding is a very important event. Its the time when they have to settle in her husband’s family. It is a completely new environment for her. In India the weddings are superbly lavish. Many gifts between the families are exchanged. The concept of ”Dowry” is very common in India. Even though dowry is banned but still some people with older values follow it . In my  view such a practise should be completely  abolish . Do you even think that we can progress with such a mindset? Our girls are strong and independent enough to live on their own . Women are no “gifts”  which are so be exchanged with something. Indian women nowadays are self driven . They know their values and take complete pride in who they are and what they are. This has caused a change in the Indian society . It is obvious that change is difficult to get but not impossible .
Talking of the lighter stuff. Indian weddings are amazing . Its like a life time experience. How many of you have actually ever attended 5-6 events for a single wedding. Its a treat to watch the super excited mother , the anxious and drilled father and the dancing cousins!
So yesss! You should surely attend an Indian wedding

The Indian women idealogy of a homemaker

A picture of my super duper cute family

Hello Guys!
Its so cold in Sweden now. I literally can’t believe that few weeks ago the weather was so hot . Everyone was chilling on the beaches and Enjoying the sun. Now its very cold yet again. Today I would want to talk about a very crucial and critical topic for the Indian culture. The concept of women being at home and dedicating their life for the family. Now for many years Indian women were only supposed to stay home and  take care of the family . What older people used to believe was that its only the wife who could bind the entire family together . She is the one who is supposed to cook food, nurture  the kids , provide them with good values etc etc.. In my opinion this kind of thinking was okay and acceptable  till the time  the women wanted their life to be dedicated in the household chores. But now the situation is changed . Women nowadays are willing to come out and work. Not just work for their families but also work for themselves and work for the society. They want to have their own independent standing . They want to earn for themselves and not just support their families by serving them but also earn for the families .  Indian Women now believes that it is possible to manage their family life with their professional life as well . you don’t have to choose as long as you know what you want to do. At the  same time I believe, its the women’s personal choice whether she wants to work or not. Nobody should force a women to do or to not do something. Its not even right to believe that home  staying women are less ambitious or less career oriented . Different  people have different priorities.
The best thing that we can do is not judge someone and let the women choose what she wants to do, what she wants to be !
okay! see you next time!
lots of love

Life of a working Indian woman

Hello Guys!
How are you? It’s been a while since I last blogged. I had gone to visit the close by countries of Sweden. It was a really fun trip. I flew down  to Eindhoven . From there we went for a road trip to many countries. The first place we went to was Amsterdam . Later we went to luxembourg and on our way back we took a halt at Liege.  It is such a beautiful place. On the next day we covered Cologne  and Dusseldorf in Germany. In Belgium we also drove down to Brussels and Brugge. And guess what guys, I enjoyed Indian food in Germany as well as Belgium . The Indian naan, dal makhani, paneer masala and Butter chicken . The places were extremely serene and beautiful. Since all holidays come to an end , so here I am back in Stockholm. In India the work culture is extremely different. Especially for women , they have to manage between their family and work. I would not say that its the women who are completely responsible for the upbringing of their families  but for them their families and their kids are most important. But for a modern Indian women, Career and work is equally crucial. To meet the deadlines, they multitask- getting up in the morning, pack their lunch , going to office , cooking dinner etc. Indian women is surely a super women.
The social status of Indian women has been changing from ancient to Modern periods. Due to many social reforms more and more  women are coming up and raising their voices against injustice and fighting for their rights!
Well , I believe women across the globe  work very hard to make things happen . So lets just say we owe one to our moms, grandmoms, sisters , aunts.I will be back with more stuff soon!
See  ya!
