Good news for the design this week from Tomorrow, Tuesday 12th to Sunday 17th April the Milan design week opens, and there will be more places to see next year tendencies.
Come along to the Rho fairgrounds where you’ll be able to see, touch, and try out all the best that domestic furnishing of every type has to offer, from stand-alone pieces to coordinates – in all kinds of different styles – from classic to design to modern – not to mention the trendsetters of tomorrow.
And to the city itself, where a multi-faceted cultural project will span various different historical locations, with a wide range of cultural events. Located at the FieraMilano complex in the Rho-Pero Trade Fair Centre, Milan, The annual Milano Salone will present the latest cutting edge in furniture and design from worldwide sources. It is considered by interior designers as a leading exposition for the display of new products by furniture manufacturers, designers, lighting concepts, and other design items. It opens to the general public only on Sunday, April 17
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is the International Furniture Fair of Milan, the largest decoration trade fair in the world. The annual show showcases the latest in furniture and design from international sources. It is considered by interior designers as a leading exposition for the display of new products by furniture manufacturers, designers, lighting concepts, and other design items. The show is commonly abbreviated as “Salone”, “Milano Salone”, and also “Milan Design Week”. It is held, in the FieraMilano complex in the Milan metropolitan area town of Rho
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano was launched in 1961, with the original focus being Italian furniture. The original sponsors were furniture manufacturers from the Federelegno-Arredo trade association. The trade show grew in size over the years, allowing many of the 13,000 companies which comprised the global furniture industry to showcase their wares in a single event.
The current show occupies an area of nearly 230,000 square metres (2,500,000 sq ft), and includes 2,500 companies, along with 700 young designers at the Salone Satellite, a secondary exhibit. The show’s annual visitation numbers 300.000, with attendees from over 150 countries worldwide.
