If you are going to New York sometime before the first of August of this year, do not miss the change to visit the Metropolitan and see the Pablo Picasso exhibition. This is the first exhibition of the New York Metropolitan focused exclusively on the works of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) from his private collection, one of the largest in the world . There are about 300 works, including paintings, drawings, a dozen sculptures and ceramics, as well as an extensive collection of prints, some of them never displayed before.
The exhibition covers the entire spectrum of the genius with many faces and all the key issues which aroused the interest of Picasso during his career : the Harlequins of pink and blue periods, his Cubist years, the monumental heads and bathers of the 1920s, angry bulls and naked from the next decade, and the knights and the musketeers of his final years.
And some of his early portraits , like the Lapin Agile (1905) and iconic portrait ofGertrude Stein (1906). The list of works of his handsome self-portrait of 1900 ( I ), fantasy Nude Standing Musketeer standing and sitting, painted almost seventy years later, when he was 87.
In addition to the works of Picasso, also it displayed photographs of the artist taken by Man Ray, Brassaï, Arnold Newman and David Douglas Duncan, all from the collection of the Metropolitan.
